Sessions Two and Three

Vision Building

Vision Building is two full-day sessions, about a month apart, where your leadership team writes the vision down. Day One covers core values, core focus, the ten-year target, and marketing strategy. Day Two covers the three-year picture, the one-year plan, and quarterly Rocks. You leave with a two-page Vision/Traction Organizer everyone can repeat.

What happens in the room

Core focus

What business you are actually in and why you exist. This is the day founders stop assuming the team already knows.

Ten-year target

One number and one date, argued out loud until the whole team can say it the same way.

Marketing strategy

Target market, three uniques, proven process, and guarantee — so sales stops improvising a different pitch per rep.

Three-year picture

Day Two. What the company looks like on a specific date three years out: revenue, profit, and a written list of what will be true.

One-year plan and Rocks

Revenue, profit, three to seven goals for the year, then the 90-day Rocks that start it. The plan gets narrow enough to act on.

Who should be in the room

The same leadership team from the Focus Day. Vision Building only works when the people who will have to deliver the plan are the ones who wrote it — a vision handed down from the founder alone is the problem we are solving.

How long it takes

Two full days, roughly 30 days apart, with the team running its own weekly meetings in between. Both days are typically 8:30 to 4:30.

What comes next

Your first quarterly session, 90 days later. From there the cadence is quarterly, with a two-day annual once a year.

Questions

About vision building

What is a Vision Building session?

Two facilitated days where a leadership team writes the company vision onto a two-page Vision/Traction Organizer: core values, core focus, ten-year target, marketing strategy, three-year picture, one-year plan, and quarterly Rocks.

Why is Vision Building split into two days?

The long view and the near-term plan need different energy, and the 30 days between them let the team live with the vision, argue about it privately, and come back with sharper answers instead of nodding in the moment.

What if the leadership team disagrees with the founder’s vision?

That is the most useful day of the year. Disagreement in the room is cheaper than quiet disagreement for the next three years, and the facilitator exists so those conversations stay productive.
